To Be With You - David Archuleta

I've been alone so many nights now
And I've been waiting for the stars to fall

I keep holding out for what I don't know
To be with you
Just to be with you

So here I am, staring at the moon tonight
Wondering how you look in this light
Maybe you're somewhere thinking about me, too
To be with you... there's nothing I wouldn't do

And I can't imagine two worlds spinning apart,
Come together eventually
And when we finally meet I'll know it's right
I'll be at the end of my restless road
But this journey, it was worth the fight
To be with you

Just to be holding you for the very first time,
Never letting go
What I wouldn't give to feel that way

Oh, to be with you
And I can't imagine two worlds spinning apart,
Come together eventually

And when you're standing here in front of me
That's when I know that God does exist
'Cause he will have answered every single prayer
To be with you

Just to be with you, yeah

My Child --- by Jill Work

My child,
I carried you in my heart
before you were even born
And dared to dream
that you were real.

My child,
I carried your picture with me
since the day I received it,
And dared to love
a child I was yet to meet.

My child,
I carried you in my arms at last,
and gazed in helpless wonder
at your face,
And dared to lose
my heart to you.

And now, my child,
a dream fulfilled,
a prayer answered,
a family created,
I have dared to become
a mom.

And so now,
my precious child,
I shall carry you
home.

I Knew I Loved You--- by Savage Garden

Maybe it's intuition
But some things you just don't question
Like in your eyes
I see my future in an instant
and there it goes
I think I've found my best friend
I know that it might sound more than
a little crazy but I believe
[chorus:]
I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life
There's just no rhyme or reason
only this sense of completion
and in your eyes
I see the missing pieces
I'm searching for
I think I found my way home
I know that it might sound more than
a little crazy but I believe
[repeat chorus]
A thousand angels dance around you
I am complete now that I found you
[repeat chorus to fade]

Angels Brought Me Here

Sung By Guy Sebastian

It's been a long and winding journey, but i'm finally here tonight
Picking up the pieces, and walking back into the light
Into the sunset of your glory, where my heart and future lies
There's nothing like that feeling, when i look into your eyes...

My dreams came true, when i found you
I found you, my miracle...

If you could see, what i see, that you're the answer to my prayers
And if you could feel, the tenderness i feel
You would know, it would be clear, that angels brought me here...

Standing here before you, feels like i've been born again
Every breath is your love, every heartbeat speaks your name...

My dreams came true, right here in front of you
My miracle...

If you could see, what i see, you're the answer to my prayers
And if you could feel, the tenderness i feel
You would know, it would be clear, that angels brought me here...

Brought me here to be with you,
I'll be forever grateful (oh forever Faithful)
My dreams came true
When I found you
My miracle...

If you could see, what i see, you're the answer to my prayers
And if you could feel, the tenderness i feel
You would know, it would be clear, that angels brought me here...
Yes they brought me here...
If you could feel, the tenderness i feel...
You would know, it would be clear, that angels brought me here...

"When A Child Is Born"
~Sung by Il Divo

[Sebastien:]
A ray of hope flickers in the sky
A tiny star lights up way up high

[Urs:]
All across the land dawns a brand new morn',
This comes to pass when a child is born.

[Carlos:]
A silent wish sails the seven seas
The winds of change whisper in the trees

[David:]
And the walls of doubt crumble tossed and torn,
This comes to pass when a child is born.

It's all a dream, an illusion now.
It must come true some time soon somehow
All across the land dawns a brand new morn',
This comes to pass when a child is born.
When a child is born.

Breath of My Breath

Breath of my breath and heart of my heart
I feel that you're truly my own.
I don't know how long it will take you to see,
But I hope that one day when you are grown...
you'll too, know the love you feel for your child.
A blessing from heaven above...
A task we accept and honored to have.
A baby, our new life... to love.
And I as your mother, would feel just the same
if you had been born unto me.
You are part of my heart, and each breath that I take,
no more my child could you be.
... If you had grown just under my heart
inside my tummy below...
For greater my child, you grew in my heart
... as only your mother could know.

Red Thread Poem

A red thread to China was cast today
From us to a child so far away.
This thread symbolizes an attachment of hearts
That distance alone can't keep us apart.

Her mother and I are caught in a chase
That time alone will bring us to face
This loving young child we want so much to greet
With love in our hearts before we did meet.

This tiny, thin thread may stretch, tangle or fray
But our love for her grows stronger each day.
Through the test of time it won't break or sever
She'll be part of us forever and ever.

With oceans between us, the distance is spanned
By a love that is greather than man could have planned.
For God in His mercy loved her and us
And decided our family would be a great plus.

So for now we'll just love her and pray every day
That God keeps her and loves her for us till we may
Travel to China, that land of great past,
To the side of our daughter, to hold her at last.

THE PREGNANT WAIT

An Ultrasound,
Or Referral.
Our first peek at,
Our boy or girl.
Some are Pregnant,
We're Adopting.
What's the Diff'rence.
Really Nothing.

Some come by Stork,
Some come by Plane,
When they arrive,
It's all the same.
Our boys and girls,
Despite the path,
Still need our love,
Our hugs and laughs.

We dream daily,
How she's doing,
What she looks like,
How she's feeling.
Is She Healthy,
And do they care,
Is she happy,
Or is she scared.

Do they hold her,
Rock her to sleep,
Do they give her,
Enough to eat.
I vent my fears,
Four words per line,
I let them out,
With words that rhyme.

We read the books,
On Week-by-Week,
On how she grows,
And best car seats.
I watch the clock,
And Calendar too.
Trying to guess,
When she is due.

Not for the day,
When she arrives,
But for the day,
She joins our lives.
Because one day,
Out of the blue,
Our girl is born,
Somehow we knew.

We are pregnant,
In our own way,
All celebrate,"Forever Day".
Despite my fears,
I must have faith,
Warm and healthy,
I know she's safe.

How do I wait?
I've asked before,
The Pregnant wait,
I'll wait some more.

Enya - If I Could Be Where You Are

Where are you this moment?
Only in my dreams.
You're missing, but you're always
A heartbeat from me.
I'm lost now without you,
I don't know where you are.
I keep watching, I keep hoping,
But time keeps us apart
Is there a way I can find you,
Is there a sign I should know,
Is there a road I could follow
To bring you back home?
Winter lies before me
Now you're so far away.
In the darkness of my dreaming
The light of you will stay
If I could be close beside you
If I could be where you are
If I could reach out and touch you
And bring you back home
Is there a way I can find you
Is there a sign I should know
Is there a road I can follow
To bring you back home to me

Wait - Steven Curtis Chapman

You wonder when the Lord will renew the strength within you;
You wonder how, how can He use you as you are.
Seems like you're wasting precious time,
But then a voice comes to remind you (to wait).
CHORUS
Wait, wait, wait on the Lord;
You will understand in time.
Why you must wait,
Wait, wait, wait on the Lord;
Yes He hears you,
But for now you must wait on the Lord.
Answers come slowly to your cries of desperation,
But time is His tool, teaching the greatest lessons learned;
So let Him do His work in you,
And watch the miracles come true as you (wait).
(chorus)
And He wants you to know that
They that wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They will rise up with wings as eagles,
They will run, not get weary.
They will walk and not faint;
That's a promise to us when we (wait).
(chorus)

K-Ci & Jo-Jo: This Very Moment

I cant believe it's true,
I'm standin' here in front of you,
and you are here with me.
so unbelievable, I'd never ever let you go.

My heart is yours for keep.
Lets make a vow, right here and now
This is the day that i prayed for,
you are the girl of my dreams,
and my place in life,
is right here by your side on this day,
this very moment.

Today is you and I,
we celebrate a brand new life that God has given us.
until the end of time,
I hold your precious hand in mine,
a promise you can trust.

We said the words I do,
forever all my love for you.
This is the day that i prayed for, y
ou are the girl of my dreams,
and my place in life is right here by your side,
on this day.

My heart and soul will beat,
this day was meant to be,
I need you desperately,
through all eternity.
so perfect and so right,
I vow to share me life,
I'll be by your side from now on.

This is the day that I prayed for.
you are the girl of my dreams,
and my place in life is right here by your side.

On this day, this very moment.
This very moment.
This very moment.
This very moment.
I can't believe it's true,
I'm standin here in front of you,
and you are here with me.

The First Time Ever I saw Your Face - Celine Dion

The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and the stars were the gifts you gave
To the dark and the endless skies my love
The first time ever I kissed your mouth
I felt the earth move through my hand
Like the trembling heart of a captive bird
That was there at my command my love
The first time ever I lay with you
I felt your heart so close to mine
The first time ever I saw your face
Your face
Your face
Your face

Enya - Long, Long Journey

City lights shine on the harbour,
night has fallen down,
through the darkness
and the shadow
I will still go on.

Long, long journey
through the darkness,
long, long way to go;
but what are miles
across the ocean
to the heart that's coming home?

Where the road
runs through the valley,
where the river flows,
I will follow every highway
to the place I know.

Long, long journey
through the darkness,
long, long way to go;
but what are miles
across the ocean
to the heart that's coming home?

Long, long journey
out of nowhere,
long, long way to go;
but what are sighs and what is sadness
to the heart that's coming home?

Songs I Love

Artist/Band: Little Big Town
Song: A Thousand Years
Album: Little Big Town

I still can't believe you're really here
wrapped up in my arms
I've waited so long just to hold you near
and tell you all the feelings I have for you
The reason that I want you
And I want you to know
Wherever you go
Whatever the future holds
No matter what tomorrow brings
On earth or the stars
I will be where you are, holding you
Now that I have you here
I'll love you for a thousand years
Baby even all of all the time
and spaces couldn't come between us
Couldn't separate us from each other,
we're meant to be together
I want to spend forever
I will be loving you
Wherever you go
Whatever the future holds
No matter what tomorrow brings
On earth or the stars
I will be where you are, holding you
Now that I have you here
I'll love you for a thousand years

Artist/Band: McGraw Tim
Song: Not A Moment Too Soon
Album: Greatest Hits, Vol. 2
I was standing at the end of my rainbow
With nowhere to go and no pot of gold in sight
All my wishes were just way too much to hope for
But when I saw you I knew I'd seen the light
And not a moment too soon
Without a minute to spare
You touched my heart
When I didn't have a prayer
In my darkest hour
With my world filled with gloom
Your sweet love saved me
Not a moment too soon
I used to think that love would never find me
And the one who cares was lost somewhere in time
But when you found me I knew I'd found forever
You rescued me just before I crossed the line
And not a moment too soon
Without a minute to spare
You touched my heart
When I didn't have a prayer
In my darkest hour
With my world filled with gloom
Your sweet love saved me
Not a moment too soon
Your sweet love saved me
Not a moment too soon
Not a moment too soon

Heart of Innocence
Sometimes I wake up
In the dark night
And in my mind
There’s a picture of you
I know someday this dream
Will come alive
So for now
Your shadow will do
I’ve never seen your face
But I know you’re in my heart
Baby someday someplace
I’ll hold you in my arms
Chorus:
I have a gift for you
Something I have held on to
Waiting for your sweet caress
No ribbon has been untied
From all that I hold inside
And only youWill possess
This heart of innocence
Oh yeah
I lay my head down
On a pillow of white (of white)
Here in the dark
I am cradled in peace (ooh)
No loss from yesterday
To haunt me at night
No tears to dry
No sad memories
It isn’t hard to hold
And I will safely keep
This strength that is in my soul
Until you come to me
Chorus
Every night I wish before I fall asleep(Make a wish)
That destiny will take your hand
And lead you to me
Oh
Chorus
Oh, oh
Spoken:I love you

Daydreaming

I stepped into her room today
Knowing she’s not there
This waiting for referral
Is more than one can bear.

But taking in the moment
I sit down on the floor
And dream of her here with me
When waiting is no more.

A little giggle fills the air
As I rub her feet.
I place my hand upon her heart
To feel its every beat.

A song is sung so very soft
Her eyes begin to close.
She’s meeting me in dream land
A place where love still grows.

My vision now is very blurred.
The tears stream down my cheeks.
I’ve dreamed of her quite often
Throughout these past few weeks.

Suddenly a sound is heard.
The phone rings in the hall.
Waking up I quickly pray
Please let it be “The Call”.
-Tom Fisher

She Loves Me

She Loves Me
You started to grow, the Authorities wouldn’t learn
I knew in my heart, I’d carry you full term
She Loves Me Not
But you left me alone that night in the park
You left me alone by myself in the dark
She Loves Me
That place that I left you was busy by day
I knew you’d be found, I planned it that way
She Loves Me Not
I cried through the night, your face to see
Alone in the morning they discovered me
She Loves Me
I watched from a distance, I kept you in sight
Your cries broke my heart, the tears blocked my sight
She Loves Me Not
I went to a home where lots of kids live
There wasn’t much love like a mother would give
She Loves Me
I watched you that year, for I had a plan
A mother would come from a distant land
She Loves Me Not
You watched me? You cared? You knew that some day,
a mother would comeTo take me away?
She Loves Me
Yes, my darling, though oceans apart
A red thread connects us, a thread from my heart
She Loves Me
Oh mother, you love me.
Your plan came to be
I'm in a new home
I wish you could see
This one from your dreams
is really quite kind
She loves me like you,
the best one could find.

I'm sorry I questioned
how you felt that day
I know that you love me,
my heart is OK
That red thread you speak of,
I see it too!
It's comes from my heart,
straight back to you.
-Tom Fisher

A Mother's Love

She left you one morning,
She had no choice.
In a country of millions
She had just one voice.

The law made it clear
One child would do.
To obey it would mean
No hope for you.

As she laid you down
Her eyes became blurried.
On saying goodbye
Said don't you worry.

Another will come
To take my place.
A mother will come
From a different race.

She'll hold you and love you
As if you're her own.
She'll take you away
To a brand new home.

She then ran away
Her heart broke in two.
Don't ever forget
Of my love for you.
-Tom Fisher

I dream of you

Today I'm sitting at the spot
I call our secret place
With eyes closed tight I dream of you
The tears stream down my face

I left you here a year ago
It was to my despair
The emptiness within me
Is more than I can bear

Where are you today my darling?
Where are you today my dear?
A part of me is missing
I wish you still were here

Are you perhaps in China
Maybe right down the street
Sometimes I walk right by that place
In hopes our eyes will meet

I left you here my daughter
I left you in this place
Each time I close my eyes at night
My dreams fill with your face

I will always love you
I will always care
Even though I left you here
My dreams are yours to share

Please forgive me little one
There was no other choice
When you close your eyes at night
Your heartbeat is my voice.
Tom Fisher

Until Forever

This morning in China a mother cries
She’ll never forget her daughter’s eyes
Her heart is broken and filled with pain
The tears run down like the falling rain.

She has no choice but to leave her there
The cost of keeping is too much to bear
She hopes her daughter will one day know
True love can be found in letting her go.

This morning in China a baby cries
Hungry and scared as tears fill her eyes
Her mother has left her in this public place
Another lost daughter of the Chinese race.

Someone passing by has heard her soft moan
She’s soon quickly taken to a foster home
It’s here she’ll reside in the care of another
Until she’s adopted by a brand new mother.

That very same moment, in the U.S.A.
A woman cries as she starts to pray
Her heart is heavy but filled with much love
She prays for a daughter she thinks the world of.

“Dear Jesus I ask that your arms would be
Wrapped tightly around the one picked for me
Guard her in China ‘till I make my way
And then in my arms forever she’ll stay.”

Tom Fisher

If God Waits Longer Than You Wish. . .

Be assured that if God waits longer than you wish, it is only to make the blessing all the more precious.

Our Child

Our child Can never not be yours, Nor not ours.

So somehow, We must let you know Our unbound gratitude For this precious gift you nurtured then gave into our keeping.

Thank you for sharing life. For allowing it uterine maturity In place of abortive non-existence Which you could have chosen.

Thank you for Caring deeply enough, For trusting enough To place your babe into a small secure ark, To float in the rushes of life Without even a Miriam at the watch To tell you where His path will be.

We honor that trust, And shall love and cherish him As strongly and surely as you do.
Our child Will grow tall and well Undoubtedly with the stumblings And skinned knees of life. But always we will be there. And you also, in spirit, close by.

A mother's spirit knows no abandonment, No matter what circumstances Produce separation or distances Our child will always know that you care.

We pray for your joy and well-being We humbly acknowledge your gift, And in spirit closeness Share with you OUR CHILD.

My Own Child

I Did not plant you, True. But when The season is done - When the alternate Prayers for sun And for rain Are counted- When the pain Of weeding And the pride Of watching Are through-
Then I will hold you High, A shining sheaf Above the thousand Seeds grown wild.
Not my planting, But by heaven My harvest - My own child.

The Quest

We were the perfect family, at least it seemed so for a while.
But soon we sensed there was a gap- that we were missing some bright smile;
that we waited for a tiny voice we felt was destined still to come
for here we had the sort of love that needed to be spread to some dear other child,
who needed us to share with them our loving home.

And so began our family quest to find the one to for whom we sought,
the one sweet child left all alone, unloved, untended, and untaught.
We sought for you in distant lands, as prayerfully wereached our goal.
At last we found that dearest child, who stilled the echoes in our soul.
For if, my child, we rescued you, then you have madeour family whole.

Half a World Away

A half a world away, Sometimes it seems we're so far apart.
But a half a world away, Is not too far for a journey of the heart.
My little one, my precious joy, I'm waiting for you.
My precious daughter, my little girl, I know you're waiting too.

A half a world away, A child waits for a family of her own.
While a half a world away, A family waits to come bring her home.
My little one, my precious joy, I'm whispering a prayer.
My precious daughter, my little girl, I hope to soon be there.

A half a world away, So many months of waiting are past.
A half a world away, So many miles to bring you home at last.
My little one, my precious joy, You're finally home to stay.
My precious daughter, my little girl, We celebrate this day.
Knowing we will no longer be a half a world away.

Adoption

You first came to us in an envelope
With letters, forms and such
Just two tiny little pictures
With nothing warm to touch.
You grew in our imagination
In our hearts and in our minds.
You brought us greater joy
Than we ever thought we'd find.
A phone call started labor pains
Which lasted 'til we met
Strangers brought together
A day we won't forget.
You bloomed as you were planned
In our hearts, our lives, our home.
Our child of chance, of plan, of will
You're now our very own.

Child in my arms

May you be safe and sleep soundly through the night, May you be safe as you wake to the morning's light. May you feel my love from so far away, May it comfort and protect you throughout each day. I will pray for you my little one Until our time of waiting is done. I will pray that the Lord keep you safe from harm, Until the child of my heart becomes the child in my arms.

on the wings of destiny

We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life
But those who make their journey home across time and miles
growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them
are carried on the wings of destiny and placed among us
by God's very own hands.

Poem for life book

I am so very special, I have been from the start.
Before they held me in their arms, my family held me in their heart.
And like a single drop of rain that on still water falls
My life and love will ripples make and touch the lives of all.
So read this precious story as step by step I grow
I am a blessing and a gift as each page here will show.

"Why This Child?"

Words are like flowers in a summer field,
when I reach to pick them they often yield
unwillingly, or wither in my hand,
limp and useless, not nearly as grand
as before I gathered them on demand.

And today someone asked me, “Why this child?”
“Why her, so foreign and Eastern-styled?
Why do you want her?” The words would not come,
in all that bright meadow of words there were none
to declare the reasons my heart calls her home.

My mind like a new-planted field gently lies,
quietly holding the hows and the whys.
We stand at the deep edge of need, she and I,
across the cold seasons we silently fly
to warm one another, and words don’t tell why.

For words are like flowers, delicate, rare
and when I would pick them, are not always there.
As sunlight and shadows on field flowers dart,
or in dim forests ferns flourish apart,
words sometimes don’t tell us what blooms in the heart.

Don't Miss Your Blessing

The man whispered, "God, speak to me" and a Chickadee sang. But, the man did not hear.So the man yelled "God, speak to me!" And, the thunder rolled across the sky. But, the man did not listen. The man looked around and said, "God let me see you." And a star shined brightly. But the man did not notice. And, the man shouted, "God show me a miracle!" And, a life was born. But, the man did not know. So, the man cried out in despair, "Touch me God, and let me know you are here!"Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man. But, the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on.Don't miss out on a blessing because it isn't packaged the way that you expect.

Poem from a Birth Mother

ON THE WINGS OF A PRAYER
I set you free on the wings of a prayer
To fly through life in His tender care,
You're free from the nest and the ties that are bound
Free from the pressures I carry around.
If I kept you I'd only be cutting your wings,
Not offering the chance a true family brings.
The decision I've made has my heart torn in two,
But I know what I'm doing is the best thing for you.
The sky is so vast, the mountains so high
Take wing and remember:
I love you.
Goodbye.

Legacy of An Adopted Child

Once there were two women who never knew each other
One you do not remember, the other you call Mother

Two different lives shaped to make you one
One became your guiding star, the other became your sun

The first one gave you life, and the second taught you to live it
The first gave you a need for love, the second was there to give it

One gave you a nationality, the other gave you a name
One gave you a talent, the other gave you aim

One gave you emotions, the other calmed your fears
One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried you tears

One made an adoption plan, that was all that she could do
The other prayed for a child, and God led her straight to you.
Now, which of these two women, Are you the product of?
Both, my darling, Both, Just two different types of love.

How could you know?

As you lay sleeping far away as still as you could be...
How could you know the joy today this photo brings to me?

A few short weeks and you'll be mine, and "I" will soon be "We".
How could you know the love I feel? It's something you can't see.

So have sweet dreams, my precious babe. Sleep well and tenderly.
Some say that you're the lucky one. How could you know it's me?

We're so lucky

I didn't come out of my mother.
I don't have my father's green eyes.
No one in my family looks like me.
People are always surprised.
I think we're a happier family
Than if we were all kings and queens.
We're so lucky we all found each other.
That's what being adopted means.

Someday Mom

As a girl I had a common dream, to be a mom someday.
My baby would have eyes of blue and hair the hue of hay.
But now my dreams have been transformed. New visions fill my head.
Now the tresses that I long to stroke are raven black instead.

And in my dreams those eyes are not so big or blue or round.
Now in my dreams they're almond shape and colored cocoa brown.
And in my dream my arms can stretch across enormous seas.
They reach half-way around the world and hold you close to me.

As you grow in your mother's womb, carefully knit together,
Your also growing in my heart, where you will stay forever.
And in my dreams the moment that your mother says good-bye,
I'll be right there to comfort you and hold you as you cry.

Our features may not look alike; we're different as can be.
But still I know the father has created you for me.
And though I've not yet seen your face, or held your tiny hands,
And though we're half a world apart in very different lands.

I'll be right there to get you just as soon as God allows.
But til he says the time is right I give to you this vow.
I'll pray for your protection every night on bended knee
for God will hold you in his arms, until you're home with me!

A Mother's Love

Were you born today across the ocean deep and blue?
Did someone wrap you warmly? Did they stop and gaze at you?

Did they look upon your almond eyes and touch your silken hair?
Did they stop to kiss each tiny toe, hear your breath upon the air?

Did you hear a soft voice comforting, securely in her arms?
The warmth of two souls bonding, oh, the lure of newborn charms.

Were they charmed by every movement; every yawn and stretch and pout?
Did they celebrate with handshakes and good spirits all about?

(Or were the tears mistaken, as they fell upon your face?
Their eyes were wells of sorrow? Their heads hung in disgrace?

Did they tremble when they realized the thing that would be done?
Did they mourn the new day coming, with the rising of hte sun?)

Did they place you, oh so tenderly, in the place where you were found?
Were those blankets wrapped up tightly to deny the cold, hard ground?

Did she whisper words of comfort with a love that was so deep?
Did she recognize the features of this one she could not keep?

Did you feel the night wind blowing as it carried in the morn?
Did you hear your mother weeping on the day that you were born?

And here across the ocean a mother weeps for you.
How long before she travels across that ocean, deep and blue?

How long before she gazes at those dimpled hands?
How long before she travels to that promised, distant land?

Her heart is filled with gladness. Her dreams are coming true.
The secret thrill of motherhood, across that ocean deep and blue.

And she'll gaze upon your almond eyes and touch your silken hair.
She'll stop and kiss each tiny toe...feel your breath upon the air.

And you'll hear a soft voice comforting; the worlds so insecure.
Two fragile souls are bonding as they hold each other near.

She'll be charmed by every movement; every yawn and stretch and pout.
And she'll celebrate with handshakes and good spirits all about.

And you'll hear the night wind blowing as she rocks you off to sleep.
And she'll whisper words of comfort, with a love that is so deep.
...And far across the ocean a mother weeps...

From the Bible and those close to God

For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him.

THE GIFT OF LIFE

I didn't give you the gift of life,
But in my heart I know
The love I feel is deep and real,
As if it had been so.

For us to have each other
Is like a dream come true.
Though I didn't give you the gift of life,
Life gave me the gift of you.

KISSES IN THE WIND

KISSES IN THE WIND
(for our daughter in China)

We hold you in our hearts
and touch you in our dreams.
You are here each day with us,
at least that's how it seems.

We know you wonder where we are...
what's taking us so long.
But remember child, We love you so
and God will keep you strong.

Now go outside and feel the breeze
and let it touch your skin...
Because tonight, just as always,
We blow you kisses in the wind.

May God hold you in His hand
until We can be with you.
We promise you, our darling,
We're doing all that We can do.

Very soon, you'll have a family for real,
not just pretend.
But for tonight, just as always,
We blow you kisses in the wind.

May God wrap you in His arms
and hold you very tight.
And let the angels bring the kisses
that We send to you each night.

Chinese Lullaby

Similar to “Hush Little Baby” in the English-speaking world, this is the lullabye every Chinese child learns:

Mama Hao (Mandarin)
Shi shang zhi you mama hao.
You ma de hai zi xiang ge bao.
Tou jin mama de huai bao Xin fu xiang bu liao.
Shi shang zhi you mama hao.
Mei ma de hai zi xiang ge cao.
Li kai mama de huai baoXin fu na li zhao.

English translation:
Only Mama is the best in all the world.
With a mama, you have the most valued treasure.
Jump into mama’s heart andYou have endless happiness.
Only Mama is the best in all the world.
Without a mama you are like a piece of grass,
Away from mama's heart, Where will you find happiness?
